family search

I cannot seem to get past the "Please try again later" message on the images of the Catholic church in Mexcio.
I'm having trouble with familysearch.  I can only go through about 5 or 6 images on the Catholic Church Collection in Mexico before I get the message "Please try again later."  I'm going to have to report it.

Sunday's Genealogy meeting

Even though the speaker did not show up, we had a good meeting.  We discussed the upcoming conference and did a little research.  We had about 35 people present.

I am looking at a document that starts with "Yo Diego Montemayor" but I can't read the rest.  I can pick a word here or there but not enough to be able to tell what kind of document it is.
I'm also looking into what appears to be a will by Fernando de Longoria dated 17 November 1693 in Monterrey in which he names his children: Juan, Gabriel, Francisco, Ines, Gregorio and Josefa, along with his wife Maria de Montemayor who is deceased.  I wonder if I can follow this trail forward to find out which Longorias are descended.

I'm still looking for the baptismal record for Ruperto Sanchez, son of Benigno Sanchez and Maria Rosario (Rosalia) Rodriguez.  He was born sometime between 1845 and 1856
We're busy planning the 33rd Annual Texas Hispanic Genealogical and Historical Conference at South Padre Island.
This blog is created to encourage followers to share in genealogy research in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.  Most of my ancestors came to this area to work and raise families.  They were not awarded land grants.  This blog is not for land grant seekers or for descendants of land grantees.
